Trump’s Board of Peace Readies Forces, Funding for Gaza

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump announced that his newly established Board of Peace has secured pledges of “thousands of personnel” and billions of dollars for a potential international stabilization force in Gaza.

In a Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump said participating countries will formalize their contributions during a meeting on February 19 in Washington. He described the deployment as part of efforts to ensure “security and peace” in the Palestinian territory.

“Member States have pledged more than $5 BILLION DOLLARS toward the Gaza Humanitarian and Reconstruction efforts, and have committed thousands of personnel to the International Stabilization Force and Local Police,” Trump wrote, emphasizing that Hamas must fulfill its promise of immediate and full “demilitarization.”

Trump did not disclose which nations have committed troops or funding. Indonesia, however, reported that 8,000 personnel are on standby, potentially making it the first country to formally contribute forces pending government approval. “Our troops are fully prepared and can be dispatched at short notice once the government gives formal approval,” Army spokesman Brigadier General Donny Pramono told a news outlet.

The Board of Peace was officially established in mid-January as part of a roadmap for Gaza, with Trump envisioning the body as a quasi-alternative to the UN, wielding influence “far beyond” the traditional international organization.
