Gulf Countries Commit Over Four Billion to Trump’s Peace Efforts

(MENAFN) Several Gulf nations have collectively promised more than $4 billion in financial contributions to support US President Donald Trump’s newly formed Board of Peace, signaling strong regional backing for initiatives aimed at addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promoting broader stability.

The funding commitments were revealed during the board’s inaugural session in Washington. At the gathering, Qatar and Saudi Arabia each announced $1 billion contributions. Kuwait also committed $1 billion to be provided over the coming years, while the United Arab Emirates pledged an additional $1.2 billion earmarked for Gaza through the board’s framework.

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized Doha’s ongoing support for the initiative, stating that Qatar “reaffirms its commitment to the Board of Peace as it was committed to the very first day of the mediation efforts.”

“Our responsibility remains to achieve a just and lasting resolution,” he said, adding that the board, under the leadership of President Trump, “will advance the full implementation of the 20-point plan without delay, ensuring fairness and justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.”

He said the plan seeks “to ensure fairness and justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.”

“In this spirit, Qatar pledges $1 billion in support of the board’s mission aimed at reaching a final resolution that fulfills Palestinian aspirations for statehood and recognition and Israeli aspirations for security and integration,” he said.

Sheikh Mohammed further noted that Qatar would maintain coordination of humanitarian assistance in Gaza alongside UN partners and the Board of Peace.

Separately, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir confirmed that Riyadh would also allocate $1 billion over the coming years to help advance the board’s objectives.
