Israeli Army Kills Palestinian in Gaza on Ramadan’s First Day
According to medics at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, a young man was killed near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of the city, after coming under Israeli gunfire.
Witnesses reported that Israeli military vehicles positioned in eastern Khan Younis opened heavy fire during the early morning hours. Additional gunfire was reported near the Morag axis north of Rafah in southern Gaza, while artillery strikes hit eastern parts of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
In Gaza City and the northern regions, Israeli forces reportedly fired toward eastern areas of Beit Lahia, and artillery targeted the vicinity of Al-Sikka Street east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City. No casualties were immediately reported in these locations.
Since October 10, a US-backed ceasefire has been in effect, pausing Israel’s two-year-long conflict in Gaza, which has claimed more than 72,000 lives—mostly women and children—and left over 171,000 injured since October 2023.
Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces have reportedly carried out hundreds of violations, including shelling and gunfire, resulting in 603 Palestinian deaths and 1,618 injuries, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
